ESL Teacher Training

Alongside TEFL courses, UK-TEFL also offers ESL Support Training for Teachers in schools across the country. Our courses are taught by exceptional trainers, all with extensive experience in teaching EFL and ESL in the UK and overseas.

These courses are designed for primary or high school teachers and teaching assistants who have ESL students in their classes. It will help you understand the challenges these students face when studying in English and how you can support and guide them with their language learning.

Why is this IMPORTANT?

In today’s climate, it’s very possible for foreign students or refugee children to join your school or even new children who don’t know the area or language very well. That’s why it is so IMPORTANT to make this transition for them as easy as possible. The goal is to make them feel welcome, provide support, encourage friendships, and make sensitive assessments about language needs, learning needs and wellbeing.

Some of the benefits to your teachers:

  • Assess your classroom’s challenges and language barriers

  • Adapt and plan your lessons for ESL learners

  • Overcome key grammar and phonetics challenges

  • Communicate more effectively with your class

  • Teaching 1-1 and small groups

Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose your preferred course dates and we will get those pencilled in

  2. Get staff members/attendees signed up

  3. Have 5 attendees interested? We can confirm your course!

  4. Pay by invoice or direct via an online link
