Every learner is different, you may need to try some, or all of the techniques discussed before it works. Everything in the classroom is down to really understanding your class profile, getting to know your students to ensure the maximum output for everyone involved.

    How can we keep students motivated and engaged in the classroom? We’ll look at Strategies to encourage engagement & motivation in the classroom.

  • Using Bloom's Taxonomy

    Bloom’s Taxonomy classifies various levels of cognitive ability which can be a useful tool for teachers to set clear class goals, write clear lesson aims and outcomes and see how learners engage with different types of lessons.

  • Using Music to Increase Engagement

    Music can be used in so many ways in the classroom to help students engage with a topic or to increase motivation. We’ll at how we can incorporate it into our lessons and some things we might want to consider.

  • Maintaining Engagement and Motivation when teaching Skill Sessions

    Skill sessions are a focus on reading, writing listening or speaking. Most skill lessons will integrate a range of skills together to assists with engagement.

  • Gamification

    Games can help with student engagement, motivation, and active participation. We’ll look at some good examples of games you can use in your own classroom.

  • Our 10 Hour Teaching with a Focus on Engagement & Motivation Course is ideal for those who have already received a TEFL certificate and are looking at ways to enhance their qualification. The course covers everything engagement and motivation.   • This course includes one assessment consisting of ten questions, which you will need to achieve 75% or above to pass. The course is designed to challenge you, but there are no trick questions and the answers are all within the course.

  • I would recommend this course to anyone who has been teaching unqualified but has been teaching for a while and has gained a lot of experience and needs a teaching certificate to get their foot in the door somewhere. I've been teaching for a while, being awarded an 'In-house' certificate and gaining examiner status for most of the English Language Exams but was requested to have a teaching certificate more than 120 hours. That's why I would recommend the course - it's quick and as an experienced teacher, it was still useful to revise the basics!
